  • What can you reasonably expect to achieve from installing a Solar water heating system?
Provided we have understood your requirements and we match your needs with the right system a minimum saving result of 20% of your electricity bill should be achieved.

Many Solar companies will quote much higher savings and will indeed achieve such savings but there are always side considerations.

The placing of the system on or in the roof and making sure there is enough hot water on the roof to cope with regular consumption is the absolute critical component. Generally a high water usage is linked to a high energy bill. The objective is to stop the hot water element from coming on.

We can achieve this with lots of water on the roof or a heat pump depending on how much (the volume) capacity we have to store the hot water(energy) We do not want to waste your existing geyser vessel as a storage unit and invariably find a way to incorporate it into the Total solution.

Without giving away well earned experience here on this page suffice to say we re-design, audit and manipulate the thermal heating capacity with whichever technology presents the best all round effectiveness and then present that solution to the client.

As part of our research we have UCT looking at a number of our installations, where we try to draw off deeper understanding and implement their interpretations. These scientific experiments make us alert and very aware of what we are offering and help us guarantee certain expectations, in which we are extremely cautious but still leave us feeling very positive, particularly when one considers the very long term effectiveness which is generally achieved with Solar Thermal solutions.

There is no doubt that with the right installation and a better understanding of how your energy is preserved and unleashed the average household can make a big dent in their Eskom bill through Solar thermal and heat pump technology. Significantly higher than our guaranteed amount of 20% of the "prior to installation eskom consumption".
  • Heat Pump vs. Solar
The life expectancy of the "capital purchase" is a crucial deciding factor and point of differentiation between the two technologies. Maintenance, electronic components, water usage, quality of air and water are amongst the factors to consider. Another very important consideration is insurance cover and consistency of electrical supply.

The circumstances of the environment will help us determine which of these two technologies are the best option.

If you are not happy with your systems performance based on the facts provided and we have installed a system for you, regardless of warrantee, we would like to hear from you to help determine the reason why your system may not be performing. A system that does not perform satisfactory carbon reduction is no good to us or the planet.
We issue a guarantee to architects with a full 10400 XA3 regulation explanation when they use our services. This applies to both heat pumps and solar. The solar side is tricky and needs a good understanding of the regulations which we believe we have achieved.
